Tonitrek communicate with their families by rattling their quills, making a sound not unlike distant thunder. More violent shaking produces a deafening thunderclap that can scare enemies away before they get too close.
When threatened, Tonitrek can fire their electrified quills into their opponents. They often hold loose quills in their claws and brandish them as weapons, jabbing them through the air with an accompanying thunderous noise.
